The Gauteng Government says it hopes President Cyril Ramaphosa’s visit to the province will help it highlight the importance of its 13 key priorities, which include fighting crime, creating jobs and fixing roads.
Ramaphosa will visit the province this morning.
He will meet the Gauteng government leadership as part of a series of engagements aimed at enhancing inter-governmental co-ordination and improvement of the delivery of basic services.
This is in line with the priorities of the seventh administration.
Ministers and their deputies will accompany Ramaphosa.
Provincial Government spokesperson Vuyo Mhaga says, “Actually we are quite pleased that the president will be visiting us after he had visited Mpumalanga. Obviously, we have just had our State of the Province Address, they were about 13 issues that the Premier spoke about and one of that agenda is the issue of water”
Mhanga says, “So, we will hope that our conversation will obviously be around the issue of infrastructure that is really affecting the province. Of course, because we are in Gauteng the issue of investment is a very important issue together with the issue of jobs, that how then do we get support from the national to work with us. Part of that meeting we are obviously hoping that we will discuss lot more on how do we assist municipalities going forward.”
