APC remembers Robert Sobukwe in a memorial lecture

The African People’s Convention (APC) held a memorial lecture in Makhado, Limpopo earlier today in honour of Pan Africanist Congress (PAC) founding President Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe.

APC President Themba Godi delivered the lecture reflecting on Sobukwe’s anti-apartheid legacy.

The party has been hosting a series of memorial lectures across several provinces in the month of February to honour Sobukwe.

Godi says they are concerned that there are no recordings of Sobukwe to contribute towards liberation of today’s generation.

“Today, we have no audio recording of Sobukwe, nor do we have a video recording. I have never heard Sobukwe’s voice, and we are hurt that the ANC seems to be complicit in this because ever since they came into power, they have never done anything about the continuous outcry that we want to hear Sobukwe. It is almost like they are killing him twice. So, it is indeed quite correct that the younger generation would not know much about Sobukwe,” says Godi.
