President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to host his Mozambican counterpart President Daniel Chapo on Tuesday in Cape Town at the official residence of the President.
Chapo won the recently held Mozambican elections that saw massive demonstrations after opposition leader Venancio Mondlane claimed victory, but the neighbouring country’s Constitutional Council validated FRELIMO’s victory.
Mozambique, which recently faced political stalemate, remains a close partner and immediate neighbor of South Africa.
According to the Presidency of South Africa, the visit aims to strengthen political cooperation at the bilateral, regional, continental and global levels.
President Ramaphosa and his Mozambican counterpart President Chapo look forward to fortifying bilateral ties in the spirit of unity and cooperation as they seek build a brighter future.
